Preno has an API you can build on. If you've got a system you want Preno talking to — a reporting tool, an internal database, a piece of software specific to how you operate — and there's no existing integration for it, the API is the way to do it.
This is different from connecting a partner app. Partner apps are built and maintained by the partner. Here, you (or a developer you're working with) build and maintain the integration yourselves.
What you'll need
A Preno account on the Growth Pilot plan. API access isn't available on lower plans.
Administrator access to your Preno account.
Someone who can write code — either in-house or a developer you engage.
Before you start building
Have your developer read the documentation first, particularly if you're considering upgrading to Growth Pilot specifically to integrate. The API doesn't yet cover everything Preno can do, and it's better to find that out before you commit.
If you're unsure whether what you want to build is possible, message us via the in-app support chat and tell us what you're trying to achieve — we'll tell you straight.
Getting set up
Message us via the in-app support chat and let us know you'd like API access enabled. Tell us briefly what you're building — it helps us support you, and it shapes what we build next.
Once it's on, generate an API token in Settings > Preno API / Integrations. The steps are the same as for a partner app — see Connecting a partner app via the Preno API for how to create a token, find your GUID, and keep both safe.
Point your developer at the documentation and start building.
What we support
We'll help if the API isn't behaving as documented, if you can't get access enabled, or if you're stuck understanding how an endpoint works.
We can't debug your code. How your integration is built, hosted and maintained is yours to own.
If the API can't do what you need, tell us. We prioritise API work based on what our properties are actually trying to build, so it genuinely counts.
