How Preno's Channel Manager works

How Preno's Channel Manager keeps your rates and availability in sync with your OTAs and Booking Engine.

Written by Jessica Kwok

Preno's Channel Manager is controlled directly from the Rates page — any change you make to a connected rate or availability in the Rates Page flows automatically to your connected OTAs (Booking.com, Expedia, Airbnb and others) and to your Booking Engine, via the Channel Manager. If your rates are connected the rates in Preno are the source of truth: make your changes here and let them automatically sync.

What syncs to your online channels

  1. Rates — the daily rate for each rate plan you have connected.

  2. Availability — your rooms available to sell — using Rate Availability you can close rates off to stop from selling or turn on.

  3. Restrictions — minimum nights, stop sells, closed to arrival (CTA) and closed to departure (CTD), any rules applied to your rates are also sent to your OTAs and Booking Engine.

Important: If your rates are connected, always make your rate changes and availability changes (adding restrictions) in Preno, not in the OTA's extranet — changes made on the OTA are overwritten by the next sync from Preno, and opening availability manually on an OTA can lead to bookings you have no inventory for.

Different prices on different channels

If you want to flex your rates differently across various OTAs or on your Booking Engine, add a separate rate in Preno for each (see example 2 below). Set them up as derived rates — for example, an OTA rate 15% above your direct rate — so they update automatically whenever the original rate changes. See Derived rates.
