1. Create the Conversion Tag

  1. In Google Tag ManagerTagsNew.

  2. Select Google Ads Conversion Tracking.

  3. Enter:

    • Conversion ID: AW-XXXXXXXXX

    • Conversion Label: XXXXXXXXXXXX

2. Create the Trigger

Since your URL contains a hash fragment (#confirmation), GTM reads this as part of the Page URL, not the path.

  1. Go to TriggersNewPage View trigger.

  2. Choose:

    • Trigger Type: Page View → Some Page Views

    • Condition:

      Page URL contains #confirmation
  3. Save the trigger.

3. Connect Tag and Trigger

  • Attach your new trigger (Booking Confirmation Trigger) to the Google Ads Conversion Tag.

  • Add your Google Tag Manager, Conversion ID and Conversion label into the Traffic scripts section of your booking engine settings. (Preno Settings > Booking engine > Click settings under "Booking engine configuration" > Traffic script)

  • Now, the tag will fire only when someone lands on a confirmation page once they have made a booking through the booking engine.

4. Test It

  1. Go into GTM Preview Mode.

  2. Run a test booking through Preno.

  3. When you land on the confirmation page, check the GTM debugger:

    • Conversion Tag → Fired
