Promo codes allow you to offer discounts and attract more direct bookings through your booking engine. Here's a guide to setting up and using promo codes in Preno.

Setting up a promo code

  1. Go to Settings > Booking engine. In the section called Booking engine configurations, click on the Settings button. This will open in a new tab.

  2. Click on Promo code. Here you can add a new promo code, and see the list of all your active promo codes.

  3. You can also Edit and Delete active promo codes here.

Adding a promo code Without validity

Promo codes without validity can be applied by your guests at anytime.

  1. Click on Add and choose Without validity

  2. Specify the promo name, promo code and discount

  3. Select the rate plans that are applicable for this promo code.

  4. You can specify a blackout stay date range when this promo code cannot be used.

  5. Click Save

Adding a promo code With validity

Promo codes with validity can only be applied by your guest on the specified booking period, stay dates and also applicable days.

  1. Click on Add and choose Without validity

  2. Specify the promo name, promo code and discount

  3. Tick the Apply Validity checkbox, then fill in the applicable booking period, stay dates and applicable days.

  4. Select the rate plans that are applicable for this promo code.

  5. You can specify a blackout stay date range when this promo code cannot be used.

  6. Click Save

Important considerations

Promo codes cannot enforce rates restrictions such as minimum nights, or other rate restrictions directly. However, since promo codes are linked to rate plans, you can apply these restrictions to the rate plans themselves.

You may want to create a new promotional rate plan so you can ensure the restrictions align with your promotional strategy. A tip for this is to use Derived rates, to make your management of the rate plans much easier.
